What is Rotary?
Rotary gets things done by organising events and using members skills for the benefit of the community. We also raise funds and provide help for local and international projects. Rotary harnesses the skills of many people and professions.
Rotary is a worldwide organisation, which has 1.2 million members who belong to 33,000 clubs.
…. Good Fun
The idea of Rotary is not just organising and fund raising but good fun doing it. Social events, camaraderie and friendships formed are the major rewards for membership. There is a small degree of formality in the organisation but at club meetings we keep this to a minimum.
Members are from a wide range of occupations and interests so that collectively we bring a vast range of skills to help with any project we undertake. In our local community here in Castle Donington, we provide activities for all age ranges and put on events to which everyone is welcome.
… Thursday Evening
A founding principle of Rotary is to meet regularly.
How else can we get things done without feeling like part of a team?
How else can you make lots of genuinely lasting friendships? … Enjoy a night out once a week.
